A world first - Envorem to build World’s largest greentech system

Envorem is to build what is probably the world's largest greentech system for treating oil production byproducts in what is a world first. Envorem MD, Mark Batt-Rawden made the exciting announcement on 22 November at the Middle East Produced Water Oil & Gas Symposium & Exhibition in Saudi Arabia.

The project is funded by the UK Government, via Innovate UK and private investors. Innovate UK is the UK’s national innovation agency. It supports business-led innovation in all sectors, technologies and UK regions.

The build will start in December 2022 and will be available for deployment in September 2023. This innovative green technology will process heavily oil contaminated sludges and soils at an incredible speed using a natural, water-based process. Compared to incineration it could save over 280,000 tonnes of C02 per annum.

Mark made the announcement as part of his presentation to the symposium entitled “Resolving the production byproduct dilemma with sustainable greentech”.

Resolving the production byproduct dilemma with sustainable greentech

Speaking on the opening day of the symposium Mark Batt-Rawden shared how Envorem is a team of environmentally-focused engineers seeking to collaboratively identify and deliver process improvements with green technology, The company has a vision to persuade oil producers to change processes and disposal practices to integrated greentech. Their proposition is to reduce operating costs whilst simultaneously improving environmental performance. He believes this is a ‘win-win’ for all, with the biggest winner being the environment.

During his presentation Mark identified the sources of oily sludge and oil contaminated soil, and how Envorem’s ground-breaking technology uses water and no chemicals to treat these byproducts. Find out more about the world’s largest greentech system which is a major breakthrough for the oil industry.

Speaking about the Middle East Produced Water Oil & Gas Symposium & Exhibition, Mark said: “This is a great conference. There is a real sprit of knowledge sharing and collaboration. Very refreshing and motivating.”

Reaching out to the oil industry

Oil industry environmental accountability is a fast-growing trend in today’s world and Envorem can help deliver this in a positive, cost-effective and non-judgemental way. See Why Envorem is the oil and gas industry’s new best friend.

By working together, Envorem believes it can really help the oil production industry improve its environmental impact. “But to make it happen we need to talk,” says Mark, “In an industry that is typically procurement-focussed, opening a collaborative dialogue is challenging, but we must find a way”
